History of Our Club
Chessington Bowmen was founded by Ted and Brenda Bradford in about
1977 at Chalky Lane in Chessington, just opposite the Zoo. It has moved ground a few times since then, we have been at
Kingston University and more recently at Moor Lane Junior School. In September 2010 we moved to Chessington Cricket
and Sports Club on Leathehead Road in Chessington, opposite Barwell Trading Estate (see location)
Although still a small club of about 50 members, the club has been growing in the last few years.
We have a very strong and successful junior team which has won many regional and national titles, including winning the
team event at the London Youth Games in 2009 as Kingston, and has put Chessington Bowman on the map. Our adults are starting
to get sucess as well. See our honours board for this year

Facilities
We now share fantastic facilities with Chessington Cricket and Sports
club. We have a club house with tables and chairs(for meetings, social events and shelter from the rain), a modern kitchen,
toilets, storage and best of all an excellent bar (see above) with Sky TV and a pool table. We shoot on the cricket
out field in winter and when available in summer. The shooting line and all distances up to 100 yards are all marked.
On the target days in summer we shoot on the football pitch. The shooting line and distances up to 80 yds
are marked. We have to put out safety barriers on the football pitch as there is public access to the ground.
We are also able to take part in social events organised by Chessington Cricket and Sports club provided one of our Chessington Bowmen members who is a full member of the sports club is in attendance.
