Want to try archery?

Our beginners courses are extremely popular, they consist of 3 x 2 hour sessions where you learn technique, bow set-up, fitness, and get to shoot with and without sights, alongside coaches and experienced club members.

A beginners course costs £75 per person, payment is required in advance to the details below. If you would like to join the waiting list, please fill in the required details using the form at the bottom of this page, and we'll get back to you.

Beginners archery courses

Each course includes your own tab and bracer, which you can keep after the course. You get to use club bows throughout the course, and if you go on to join the club, you get free use of the equipment for a further three months.

Minimum age is 10. You have to attend three two-hour sessions, to get a beginners certificate.  If there is one date you can't attend there is an allowance for one catch-up session at a later date.

Indoor Beginners Courses - October to January (Dates confirmed)

Outdoor Beginners Courses - March to July (Dates to be confirmed)

Saturdays at Imber Court Sports Club (opposite CrossFit Gym), Ember Lane, East Molesey, KT10 8EG. The archery field is at the back of Imber Court, do not enter via the main club entrance, and make sure you checkout directions to archery field. What Three Words archery field map reference: appear.harp.loops

To be added to our Beginners Course waiting list, fill in the form below, if you are signing up for more than one person please add their name(s) and age(s) as well, and any disability requirements, and a contact telephone number too. We will aim to respond with 7-10 days to discuss dates etc. Please check your email spam folder if you have not heard from us in that time.

Please note that any junior beginners (under 18) MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times during the beginners course. Winter courses (Oct to March) are indoors on a Wednesday evening (6.30pm-8.30pm) at the King's Centre in Coppard Gardens, Chessington and summer courses (April to September) are on Saturday mornings/afternoons at Imber Court Sports Club, Ember Lane, East Molesey. Please make sure you go to the correct location.

If you complete the beginners course, we hope you continue with archery and join the club, the membership year runs from September through to August and the joining fee is reduced if you join mid-season. For all the details on how to join the club click here to see our 'Join' page.

Please do not try and join until you have successfully completed the beginners course. If you decide to join the club, please be aware that the equipment required can be expensive - expect to pay a minimum of £250 for a complete set up, our club members and coaches will give you lots of information about where to go and what to buy.
